Climate-smart barrier materials in packaging

Examples of future materials can be found in the packaging industry. All carton packages containing wet products have a barrier material, today usually oil-based, i.e. of fossil origin. We want to be part of changing that.

We see the starch in our raw material as a potential replacement and we are conducting research on this. Starch-based, biodegradable packaging is already available, e.g. compost bags. The principle of barrier materials in milk and juice cartons is the same. In the future, that barrier material may come from us!
